Sony just says what they are going to do in an effort to stay relivant. In reality this stuff will not happen for another 5 to 8 years. of you are correct, but keep in mind the PS3 will probably never actually die, worse case scenareo we will see a PS3 with only its current exclusives, no new ones, and it will continue to get most 3rd party games but they will be late or delayed. We may see the occasional 3rd party title skip the PS3, and we may see a few exclusives go to wii and 360 only, but for the most part things should look just as they do now and just never get better. This is a worse case scenario keep in mind.

Besides, because blockbuster was stupid, they will now not be offering Transformers on HDDVD, so you dont even have the option to get it from there, why not download it off live.
I think the posters point was that this proves MS is out to push downloadable content. It does not of coarse, if anything we could argue that Mike Bay is also trying to destroy HDDVD and BoRay because this is his movie and he is allowing it to compete with the HDDVD in the form of a download.

PS3 and 360 will be the ones to watch this season. Sony is doing what MS did last year, they are going to ship a million consoles to stores. If the consoles sell or not Sony will claim via NPD that they sold a million consoles, when actually they just shipped a million. MS did the same thing last year, go to any Best Buy and you will see tons of PS3s stacked ...

Supermario doesn't matter to the 360, when all the dust settles in 2010, I think the 360 will turn out to be the greatest console to ever exist, if it keeps making loads of cash like this for developers, it will get hundreds more games in the future, not to mention all the XBLA games and content. It already is arguably one of the greatest consoles ever, and has had the greatest Christmas portfolio of games this xmas.
